Wal-Mart releases official Black Friday ad

Target, Wal-Mart have the bargains to beat this year

Posted by Melinda Fulmer on Wednesday, November 18, 2009 4:00 PM

The much-anticipated Black Friday sales ad from Wal-Mart was released today after much of its deals had been leaked to online bargain sites.

The ad, which comes six days ahead of schedule, contains a number of hot early-bird specials (5 a.m. to 11 a.m.), while supplies last:

Some shoppers trolling online bargain sites were also excited about the doorbuster Playstation 3 Console with 120 GB hard drive for $299. That’s regular price, but it comes with a free bundle of the games Infamous and Batman: Arkham Asylum, as well as the Blu-ray version of The Dark Knight.

All day Friday, Wal-Mart will be selling the 8GB iPod for $195 with a $50 iTunes gift card included.

For those with smaller budgets, it’s also offering a Tom Tom  One 125-SE GPS for $59 (regularly $164 on Amazon), as well as a number of $4 kitchen appliances such as a slow cooker and hand mixer.

Some of these deals will undoubtedly be available online, preempting that cold-weather campout. But probably not all, says Brad Olson of BlackFriday.Gottadeal.com.

Of all the leaked Black Friday ads we've seen, it appears that Target and Wal-Mart are the ones to beat this holiday season. However, Wal-Mart will price-match other stores' deals (in store and online, as long as the product is identical). DealNews has posted information on retailers who match prices here.

If you haven't made money since Obama went into office, you are probably a dumb "put the money under the mattress" type of investor"...I'm Scots-Irish and Southern, love to sing Dixie but I am proud of our president and get tired of people bashing him for no reason.  Bush hid under a rock during the total worldwide economic collapse last year.....Also, actually instead of buying a $200 laptop at walmart instead of a $500 laptop at a local store, I would buy an $1100 Apple Macbook-but then my time is worth something to me so waiting on a cheap windows netbook to boot up isn't such a great cost savings....Usually the keys are already coming off the $200 laptops on display at Walmart.  Go to Walmart to get your affordable prescription medications-thats one thing that Walmart has done that has really helped control the cost of healthcare in America.

lmao, what a joke, obama has made the u.s. laughing stock of the world, he has spent more money since hes been in office and he didnt even have to try, he said before he was elected that it was time for a change, well guess what the people who voted for him got what they ask for.

I shop at Walmart at least once a week. Forgive me for being so materialistic. I didn't need to buy deodorant, a muffler for a missionary in a cold area, a birthday card, or the new pillow. But thank God it's still a free country where I can choose how and where I spend my money. I guess I could have spent my money on a $100 dollar organic hemp shower curtain but then I don't want to cut into the marijuana trade. PS I'll be at Walmart before 5 AM to buy an inexpensive laptop for an unemployed car-less person so she can earn money on line and make a profit, save some money and work the good ol' capitalistic way that made this country so great. I'm no liberal do as I say, not as I do cheapskate!

Targets parent company is a french owned company I know I looked into investing in the company.  And as far them supporting VFW groups and things like that I know the local target stores dont have toys for tots collection boxes and they dont allow the salvation army in front of their store.

You will take target over Wal-Mart.  Target wont even let the Salvation Army nor will it let Toys for tots in their stores but they Will allow any Gay, lesbian, Transgender, and Bisexual Group in front of their store.  Wow I wonder which group does more for the community and which group will actually be there to defend our freedoms especially freedom of speech.  By the way thanks for not supporting an American company like Wal-Mart but instead a French owned company.

We all want to bash walfart but to me does it really matter any more we live in a time were self service is the best service. Ithink thats a shame... I love to promote local business but what do we do...example a local computer repair store selling a laptop for $500 can't compete with walmart selling the same product for $200. would you spend the extra $300 to save a local store ???
