Black Friday: Target's ad full of bargains
Deals include a $250 GPS for $97, cheap DVDs and $3 appliances
Looks like Black Friday shoppers can “expect more, pay less” at Target’s post-Turkey Day sale.
Target's leaked ad shows some great deals on $20 DVDs, such as Pixar’s Up for $13; Transformers and Madagascar 2 for $5.99; and The Dark Knight and Sex in the City for $3.99.
On Friday, while supplies last, you can get Chefmate small kitchen appliances for $3 – including a toaster, slow cooker, coffee maker and sandwich press.
In the electronics department, there’s a Tom Tom XL340s GPS for $97 (originally $249.99), as well as a 32” Westinghouse 720p LCD HDTV for $246 (regularly $429.99).
“That’s the cheapest we’ve ever seen on a model that size,” says Brad Olson of Blackfriday.gottadeal.com
And on Friday only, there are $89 themed Lego sets, such as an Indiana Jones Kingdom of the Crystal Skull model, for $49, while supplies last.
Other bargains were hot mostly for the bonus gift cards thrown in: The $149 8GB iPod Nano for $145 comes with a $15 Target card. The Nintendo DS bundle for $169 comes with a $20 card.
And for those shopping for themselves, there’s a nice deal on a Western Digital 1TB desktop hard drive for $59.98 (regularly $99.99)
Many of these deals can be found online on Thanksgiving Day. But as an enticement to get shoppers into the stores, Target is giving out $10 gift cards with each $100 purchase between 5 a.m. and noon Friday.

Umm, yeah. What everyone said about correting others. But I do believe people is the plural for person. So in fact, both of you two "peoples" be wrong. Hahahahaha. Since people is a plural, there should not be a "s" at the end of the word.

It amazes me how bad peoples comprehension of the English language is these days. That's not a simple typing error. That is not knowing the difference between the two."

Maybe you should have typed: "It amazes me how bad people comprehend the English Language nowadays." And since you love being the word correction officer, please be advised to use more than 1% of your brain before creating such useless and senseless words, phrases and sentences. I maybe uneducated, but you sir are just definitely a moron. Hahaha. Happy Holidays! Please feel free to shop at Target. Your money will make my 401(k) worth more!
ha! Jenwinsbend seriously did punk tomtom. That was funny =] oh yeah I work at Target, lots of good deals that arent in the ad, check em out people!
Tomtomtouf should also learn the difference between commas and semicolons and that periods go on the inside of quotation marks.
I rarely feel compelled to comment on these things, especially when it's off-topic in relation to the article. However, tomtomtouf, if you're going to be a grammar Nazi regarding someone else's post, please get it right:
that little squiggley punctuation mark in "that's" is called an apostrophe, not a comma. And, by the way, "people's" needs one as well. As for correcting the spacing, I'm sure when you were learning to type on your old Smith-Corona, double-spacing between sentences was one of the first rules you were taught. This was to assist the reader in knowing where the sentences ended as all of the letters occupied an equal space. Now that computers adjust this space to the actual width of the letter, double-spacing is unnecessary.
Glad I could help!
PS: I find his grammar perfectly acceptable. The verb "is" agrees with its singular noun "comprehension," modified by the adverb "these days." You might also note that I have placed the puntuation inside of the quotation marks in the previous sentence since that is where it actually belongs. I hope these corrections I have "passed down" have been helpful and enlightening.

Here's what it SHOULD look like:
I believe you meant "passed down" not "past down".

For the sake of Bill, I've made a list of changes. I have done the following:
corrected the spacing between sentences; capitalized the word English; added a comma in the word "that's". Also, "...is these days" could be considered - and is considered by me - bad grammar. The final sentence could also be considered a fragment.
Glad I could help! ![]()
P.S.
There is a "spell-check" button next the the "post" button...
Is this really the first time you people have heard of Black Friday ads being leaked?? Where were you last year or the year before. Seriously? C'mon...
Also, I vote Republican and I prefer Target!
