John Reese is the founder and CEO of Validea.com, a leading investment research Web site, and Validea Capital Management, an SEC-registered investment advisory firm that manages money for high net worth investors and institutions. Reese also utilizes his stock selection system to subadvise two mutual funds offered to Canadian investors, Omega Consensus American Equity and Omega Consensus International Equity.
Over the last 35 years, Reese has been actively involved in varying aspects of stock and investment research, and over the last 12 years he has been conducting extensive studies into quantitative investment strategies through his patented stock analysis and research system on Validea.com.
Reese has developed a systematic approach that selects stocks using the publicly disclosed investment strategies used by some of history’s best and most successful investors -- Warren Buffett, Peter Lynch, Ben Graham and many others. This nonemotional, data-driven orientation forms the core of his investment framework and philosophy.
He is a regular guest speaker across the country, presenting to groups like the American Association of Individual Investors, InterShow's Money Shows and other forums. He also holds two U.S. patents for his inventions in the area of automated stock analysis and is the author of "The Market Gurus: Stock Investing Strategies You Can Use from Wall Street's Best."
Before creating Validea, Reese, who holds an electrical engineering degree from MIT and an MBA from the Harvard Business School, was founder of a computer networking company, which he sold to a firm that was eventually bought out by General Electric.
He lives in West Hartford, Conn., with his wife and three children.
