The market bottom is in. The race for the roses is on.

Here's why:

  • Banks are being saved by sovereign funds rich with petrodollars.

  • Oil prices are coming down to reality

  • The Fed seems committed to saving homeowners with a half-point interest-rate cut Dec. 11.

  • Hedge funds' selling of their best stocks to close their books in November is done. Now they'll buy back the very same stocks for a run into the year-end so they can show a profit for 2007 and get paid.
